Hannah Giles (born March 15, 1989) is a columnist for BigGovernment.com and Townhall.com who played a key role in the ACORN 2009 undercover videos controversy.

She described herself as becoming “interested in exposing social injustice and the abuses of power” when she attended a conference in Washington, D.C. in 2007 while she was an intern at the National Journalism Center of the Young America’s Foundation. Giles was an undergraduate studying journalism at Florida International University until she dropped out to pursue public appearances and job offers.

In 2009, Hannah Giles collaborated with James O’Keefe to publish a series of hidden-camera video recordings in which they pretended to be a prostitute and her pimp in order to elicit responses from employees of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

The videos appeared to show low level ACORN employees willing to advise them on tax evasion, human smuggling, and child prostitution. Public reaction to these videos led to the loss of most sources of funding for ACORN, with the United States Senate and House of Representatives eliminating federal funding September 14 and 17, 2009 respectively. Private donations quickly tapered off and by March 2010, ACORN was forced to close many of its offices and file for bankruptcy.
