All riders made it to DC and were greeted by hundreds at the DC Festival 2008.
Dozens of family rights groups were in Washington DC for the festival that included conferences, two movie priemere’s, several Authors, musicians and people from all over the country. The celebration started ith the riders leaving from Lansing Michigan and concluded with A Fathers4Justice March to the WhiteHouse that was followed by an performance by Madmen and Dreamers and a candlelight vigil in Upper Senate Park. The Festival was an overwhelming emotional event that brought unity and comfort to the people that attended and everyone following thru the internet updates and videos.

Equal Parenting Cyclists – 2nd Degree Burns and Broken Rims
We received an update from Bill Knoellner today:
Yesterday Bill Knoellner was told that he had second degree burns and was treated for this. He is still in pain but refuses to quit.
Brian Downs, a Michigan Judicial Candidate, had his bicycle wheel (rim) destroyed. He is ok and they are in the process of looking for a replacement wheel.
Bill stated on the phone message that spirits are high and they are refusing to quit, but that the hills in Pennsylvania are “kicking their butt”.
Congrats to all of the cyclists for their determination to make it to the DC Festival 2008. All should attend this event JUST to welcome these equal parenting heroes

Equal Parenting Bike Trekker Sustains Minor Injuries
One of the Equal Parenting Bike Trek Riders sustained minor injuries when shoe laces became bound to a pedal while at rest. When I first heard of the injury, I was of course thinking what someone might look like after hitting the road at 55 miles per hour and was relieved to hear that was of course not the case! After a detour to a local medical center in Pennsylvania, all rides resumed on the road this morning. They are “heading into the major mountains now” stated Dan Diebolt, in a phone conversation this morning. They are right on schedule to be arriving in Washington DC on August 14, 2008 exactly one day ahead of the Family Preservation Festival 2008 National Civil Rights Event.
Also, a special announcement and newsletter was released from Family Court Reports, earlier today with final comments and an urgent call for help in several key areas.
You can view the critical newsletter at: http://www.familycourtreports.com/newsletters/specialannouncement-1.html

Our struggle against the powers than be reminds me of this chapter in the bible.
Joshua 6 vs 12-20
12And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the reward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
17And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
19But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
20So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
This video was shot last year when they rode in to the DC Mall. It describes in detail whats at stake in the fight for our right to parent our children.
Perseverance, dedication, loyalty true hearted, faithful,
true men of honor. I am looking forward to meeting
them in Washington DC on the 15th. I think I’m writing
in “Robert Peterson” in the upcoming presidential election.
Press Release
August 6th 2008
Brian Downs, a Kent County attorney and candidate for Judge in the Kent County 17th Circuit Court in the November election, joins the bike trek.
Grand Rapids, Michigan August 6, 2008 – Brian Downs, a Kent County attorney and candidate for Judge in the Kent County 17th Circuit Court in the November election is riding his bicycle 758 miles from the Capitol in Lansing to the nation’s Capitol in Washington DC. Downs along with 3 other riders are signaling a message that Family Courts throughout the nation are not family friendly. The Equal Parenting Bike Trek has been organized to bring attention to what he believes should be reform in the nations court system.
Brian Downs, who has been a family advocate for the past 7 years, believes that it is the duty of our nation to protect the parent child relationship and repair this relationship when necessary so that children maintain a loving relationship with their entire biological family. Downs believes that the nation’s family court system does more splitting up of families than protecting and maintaining this most important and primary relationship.
Downs is scheduled to leave Lansing at 2:00pm EST August 7th and scheduled to arrive at the Family Preservation Festival in DC on August 15-16.
This website will be tracking the riders with GPS. It will be availiable tomorrow afternoon when they leave on their trek.
