12-12-2008 Body Found Likely Caylee Anthony’s
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) — A dive team hired by Leonard Padilla, the bounty hunter who helped post Casey Anthony’s $500,200 initial bond, searched the waters of the Little Econ River in Blanchard Park Monday convinced they would find a trace of the missing girl. Then in the afternoon George and Cindy Anthony arrived and they were not happy.
In the midst of a dive search that bounty hunter Padilla’s crew was doing Cindy and George Anthony came out to confront Leonard Padilla.
The point of contention: a memorial service Padilla has planned for Caylee Tuesday morning.
Cindy Anthony did most of the talking. From a distance our camera caught what Cindy Anthony said. “It’s not 100 percent conclusive. You guys aren’t doing any good for Caylee…If you want to put divers in there fine… but you’re not holding a memorial service for my granddaughter.
The Anthony’s didn’t say much after their talk with Padilla except that they’re at upset Padilla’s planned memorial service. “To me it’s defamatory against us as a family…there is a little girl out there alive,” said George Anthony.
Padilla made it clear their talk didn’t change his plans. “Why’s she worried about this memorial service tomorrow? Would she rather think of her as not knowing where her granddaughter ended up…she ended up right here….her daughter put her here.”
Padilla decided to search the area after he received some information over the weekend that he contacted the FBI about.
A woman from Texas Equusearch found a cross on a tree in August hanging by the jungle gym at the park.
She took a picture of it. A woman who works for Padilla and lived in the Anthony home during Casey’s first ten days out of jail saw the picture and recognized the beads as similar to ones from an arts and crafts kit at the Anthony’s house.
When a search team looked in the area again recently, they found more beading on the ground under where the cross was hung.
Padilla says Casey mentioned J. Blanchard Park on three different occasions, and he says she may have dumped Caylee’s body into the water nearby.
Search teams find dead animal
On Monday, Equusearch crews entered a wooded area off 417 on a street called Sounderson and found several garbage bags filled with rotted food. The garbage bags were covering what appeared to be a hole created by a few trees.
When the bags were removed, an awful smell came out. Equusearch officials began shaking their heads. “You know how many times we search for one person and find another,” Mandy Albriton said who works with Equusearch.
Forensic detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were called and they ruled the remains to be from an animal.
Texas Equusearch not pulling out of search
It was supposed to be one of the biggest searches ever conducted by Texas Equusearch, but the turnout of volunteers was much lower than expected and there is still no sign of missing toddler Caylee Anthony.
Still, the search group says they are not giving up.
FOX 35’s Heidi Hatch asked Gary Peterson, the Deputy Director of Texas Equusearch, questions about this weekend’s search. She asked if the low turnout of volunteers were in any way related to the Anthony family’s lack of support.
“It would certainly be nice to have the help or the assistance of anyone that could possibly lend some information, or give some direction to help finding Caylee,” Peterson said. “Just because there is a lack of cooperation in any area doesn’t preclude our searching,” he added.
Peterson said the group still heads into each search with an object in mind whatever the outside influences are and attempt to find it.
A small group will continue a search today and Peterson said there are still a few areas they want to double check and others they want to search that they simply did not get to over the weekend.
“Texas Equusearch is going to be here, were not pulling out,” Peterson said. The main units are expected to leave within the week and head up to North Carolina.
Still, several volunteers in the Orlando area have been trained and will head up their own searches on the weekends and on their time off. “We’re going to stay in contact with them and hopefully can find something,” Peterson said.

Has anybody thought that maybe Caysee dumped Caylee’s body in a swampy area and if there are alligators there,how can she be found???
Very interesting question. Calee’s body could very well have been eaten by alligators. I wonder if their going to have to produce the body to convict Casey for first degree murder.
i am really wondering how dirty those pants were that cindy washed. Cant she be asked ? It might provide a clue. Were they muddy, sandy, stained, how much stain , color stain, wet, dry. And how strange it is that Cindy would wash the pants, and leave the stinky pizza in the car??

I am a grandmother and every time I hear Cindy Anthony say please look for that little girl it bothers me she is her granddaughter. I feel bad for them having to deal with a complusive liar for a daughter you see if you do just give your daughter to anyone without knowing everything about the sitter no matter who it is. If this sitter had Caylee she would have given her back already. There is no money to be had according to reports the family has none. So please Casey tell the truth so your baby can rest and your family can move on. Cindy and George my prayers are with you and there is no way I would protect my daughter if one of my granddaughters were missing. I’m no expert but Casey did something that she can not get out of and now if the truth came out she will pay dearly according to the law. It probably was an accident but Caylee needs to know that she is LOVED by all it’s about Caylee not Casey. Casey needs to grow up and take responsibility. God Bless Caylee and family

The police need to put a stop to the protestors asap. The father of Caylee needs to be found. It might shed some light as to Casey’s behavior and locate Caylee. Who is the father….George, Lee, someone in law enforcement or someone of high rank in law enforcement?
Casey Anthony is the most vile excuse for a human being there could be! The world knows she’s lying, but yet, in her myspace pages (all 3!) she wants to be the victim, “oh poor me”. That baby is out there rotting somewhere and she’s playing “movie star” in front of the cameras! I think if everyone goes home, ignores the crap out of her and her family, that’ll break her and she’ll confess just so she can be in the spotlight again!!
There is not much left to say about Casey Anthony, we all know she is a baby murderer, and I swear I am at a loss for words.

Yes she has past on an it was an accident,she got a hold of some drugs her mom had. I don’t care if Casey actually killed Caylee or not. The mere fact that she DOES NOT COOPERATE and WILL NOT tell the truth and DID NOT tell the very people who COULD HAVE helped her “find” Caylee is proof enough for me that guilt is driving her to be a bigger bitch than ever. I don’t know what happened to this little girl, but one person knows for sure and that is Casey. I feel like it may have been an accident, but then you hear other things, & she may have done it on purpose. The one fact that is absolute is that she never reported her missing for 31 days & probably would never have if not for Cindy. Give me a break! I’m like the lady who said she wouldn’t go a day without looking for her dog. That is our answer to the puzzle. We must leave it to the professionals to figure the rest of it out & God be with them. They have their jobs cut out for them. Please send me any ideas you may have as to what could have happened to her. I have followed this case from day one like so many of you. I feel so badly for Cindy. She goes from one mistruth to the next trying to paint a different picture of Casey to the public. As a mother, I can understand that to a certain degree but it’s really hard to take at times. She is full of contradictions & has really made herself believe it. She & George & Lee know the truth. They know their daughter much better than we do. Had we taken Casey side on this, she would not put on this circus act. She would be stalking us to make us see the truth about Casey. They all loved that child & it’s sad to see this type of thing going on. I pray I never go thru this type of nightmare. And that is putting it mildly. I can understand George’s need to leave this world. Having to live with a lie will put stress on a person like no other. Oh what a web we weave when we try to deceive. It’s taxing on the body & the mind to lie. It takes away so much energy that could be used in a positive manner. Dear God, what must they be dealing & living with? I pray they find comfort & peace. Until they are all willing to come to terms with the truth, they will find no peace…as we all know…only the truth can set you free.
It is an outrage to America & to God the things that people have said to the Anthony Family in their very own yard. The protestors outside of their home was a sin against everything we stand for. I was just watching a clip of supposed “caring people who only wanted justice for Caylee” & I couldn’t believe my ears & eyes! It’s an outrage! No wonder they are going crazy! These angry concerned people called them every name in the book (I can’t repeat the vulgarities that were used)& they claim to be looking out for Caylee’s best interests? One woman got mad at Cindy & slammed her 6 year old son’s arm in the door & then turned around & blamed that on Cindy & George! I saw it myself on video!She said she would file charges against them for hurting him! I feel sorry for the children of the protestors. I am crushed that people have nothing better to do than torture others “in the name of justice”??? I am appalled to say the least. After seeing some of these clips, I feel that the Anthonys’ have done much better than I ever could have done.
