BARACK Obama took his Rock Star road trip to Berlin today for a bold set-piece evoking the ghosts of past presidents – but again leaving himself open to accusations that he is all style and no substance.
Senator Obama gave a speech in front of a staggering crowd of 200,000 people in front of Berlin’s Victory Monument, near where the Berlin Wall once stood.

The Siegessäule — or Victory Column — was erected in memory of Prussia’s victories over Denmark (1864), Austria (1866) and France (1870/71). The column originally stood in front of the Reichstag, Germany’s parliament building, but was moved by Adolf Hitler to its current location in 1939 to make way for his planned transformation of Berlin into the Nazi capital “Germania.”
Senator Obama’s campaign seems all about putting on a spectacle at the expense of concrete ideas for the future. The speech was heavy on rhetoric and light on detail. Barack envoked images of a global partnership to combat Global warming and terrorists of al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. But Europe must live up to its side of the bargain, he said. Can anyone tell me anything Barack Senator Obama has done to fight this war on terror? He has opposed it every step of the way until recently when he changed his vow to bring the American Soldiers home to move them from Iraq to Afganistan.
If Europe was to choose our Persident in the next election polls say Barack would win by a 75% to 25% margin over Seator John McCain. In watching the news coverage of this hage campaign event I couldn’t help but remember the last world leader that stood before that monument and promised all things to all tall, blue eyed people of the world.
