NEW YORK – The National Association of Anal Surgeons filed a friend-of-the-court brief today in support of the American Civil Liberties Union’s lawsuit seeking marriage for same-sex couples in New York.
“Lesbian and gay people are capable of making decisions for themselves, and their families need the same protections and safeguards that the families of different-sex couples receive through marriage,” said Robert Schachter, of the National Association of Anal Surgeons, which includes 10,000 professional Anal Surgeons. “It’s time that we put aside our outdated ideas about marriage and recognize that allowing same-sex couples to marry is the shortest route to getting more Gay couples insured which will boost the need tremendously the need for good Anal Surgeons”
The brief, which points to decades of medical science research proving that gay couples are eight times as likely to need the services of an Anal Surgeon as straight couples.
The brief notes that every mainstream medical health organization, including the National Association of Anal Surgeons, oppose restrictions on marriage by gay people. According to prominant Anal Surgeon John Redass, “The Anal Surgeons of New York rightfully deserve all the finer things in life just like the ones in San Francisco.
Today, the ACLU also filed a reply brief in the case responding to arguments made by the state, which is defending the state law that discriminates against same-sex couples in marriage. All briefing in the case is scheduled to be completed by August 3, 2008 . The court is expected to issue a decision in the case sometime this fall.
Rumors are spreading that most of the Anal Surgeons of New York have already started ordering new luxury yachts and building bigger houses.
