Today, Friday the 21st of August 2009, President Barack Obama made a video message to the 1.5 billion Muslims in world who are beginning their Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Obama said U.S. efforts to end the war in Iraq and to isolate extremists in Afghanistan and Pakistan are in keeping with America’s responsibility to build a more peaceful and secure world.
He added that also includes U.S. support for a two-state solution recognizing the rights of Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace and security.
“All of these efforts are part of America’s commitment to engage Muslims and Muslim-majority nations on the basis of mutual interest and mutual respect. At this time of renewal, I want to reiterate my commitment to a new beginning between America and Muslims around the world.” Barack Obama.
Ramadan is a month long period of prayer, reflection and daytime fasts which begins Saturday in most of the Islamic world. Maybe its just a coincidence that Barack Hussein Obama scheduled his vacation for the same starting date, or maybe not. I’m going to be watching for any pictures to come out of daytime meals.
Obama said Ramadan’s rituals are a reminder of the principles Muslims and Christians have in common, including advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings. He didn’t mention the be-headings, beatings or the killing of daughters seen without any unrelated men.
Obama claims he has made a special effort since taking office to repair U.S. relations with the world’s Muslims. I saw on recent visits to visits to Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Cairo he did do a lot of bowing and apologising. I wonder if the Islamic extremists might be planning an American apology tour of New York where they killed thousands or maybe visiting the families of some of the Americans that they have beheaded on video the last couple of years?
Searching for Caylee
Meanwhile Barack managed to find enough time to visit a mosk in Turkey (no pictures were allowed) but is still on the hunt for a Christian Church for his family in Washington DC. I guess its hard to find a replacement for a peacefull, non-controversial pastor like America hating Reverend Wright or a congregation that cheered the Sunday after 9-11-2001.
The Obama church search is starting to remind me of the search Casey Anthony was performing for little Caylee before grandma finally called 911 and put an end to the investigation of the bars, night clubs and strange men’s bedrooms.
