On June 20th, a young woman was shot by the Basiji policing force in Tehran, Iran.
Her name was Neda, and she was not protesting when she was shot. Rather, she was watching the demonstrations with her father beside her, but became yet another victim of the Basiji policing force.
The video follows below (WARNING! The video is extremely graphic!):
Neda was a 27 year old philosophy student and was killed by Iranian Government security forces loyal to Ahmadinejad. Neda, like her name translates has become the voice of more then a election but a movement in Iran.

Another life cut short by the bloody hand of Basij for the power-grab by Khamenei and Ahmadinejad. Trajic a young life is ended rather than filled with friendship and joy.
Like everyone else I was horrified when I saw the video. She died for what she believed in. It’s obvious Neda’s blood has given new life to her cause and her people.
NEDA is an Arabic name meaning “the voice or the call.”
‘Neda’ has become the symbol of rebellion and freedom in Iran.

Her face is haunting; her death a tragedy. My heart and thoughts goe out to her parents and family. What madness.
