A plan to teach lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues to K-5 students in Alameda County draws a packed house.
An overflow crowd packed a school board meeting in Alameda Tuesday night to voice their opinion on proposed LGBT curriculum for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Opponents say the district is teaching homosexuality and want to be able to opt their kids out of the lessons.
The proposed curriculum includes the book “Who’s In a Family” and vocabulary that includes term “gay,” “lesbian,” and “LGBT,” which stands for Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender.
Since so many people attended Tuesday night’s meeting, the school board has decided to continue the hearing next week before making a decision.
With so many school teachers being charged with molesting minors in the last few years I, for one, do not want any teachers talking about sex of any kind to my kids. Isn’t that the way the child molesters break the ice with the kiddies?
