Where is Barack Obama’s Family in all This?

Barack Obama is on the verge of becoming the most powerful man in the world but his family has been incredibly silent. None of his Mom’s or Dad’s family have made any statements or showed up for any rallies or appearances of the Democratic nominee.

Other than his half brother in Kenya, who was tracked down a few weeks ago and found living in poverty, we have heard nothing from his family.

Last week a story about his Father’s sister hit the news because she was living in public housing in Boston illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, making her an illegal immigrant.

So here’s what we know about Baracks family….

Barack’s Mother, Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro (November 29, 1942 – November 7, 1995), known as Ann Dunham, and later as Ann Sutoro, was a young woman that met Baracks father and immediately got pregnant and had Barack and six months later he left her saying that he was going to Harvard to study economics. A few years later, Dunham met an Indonesian student, Lolo Soetoro (ca. 1936-1987), at the East-West Center on the University of Hawaii campus. They married in 1967 and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Baracks mother then sent him back to Hawaii to live with his Grandmother.

Soetoro and Dunham had a daughter, Maya Kassandra Soetoro, on August 15, 1970.
Dunham died of ovarian cancer in 1995. Barack and his half-sister, Maya Kassandra Soetoro, spread Ann’s ashes in the Pacific Ocean on the south side of Oahu.

Barack’s father, Barack Hussein Obama Sr., was a Kenyan communist who fathered several children in the village with several different mothers was raised as a Muslim, but late in life became an atheist. He only saw his son again once, in 1971, when Barack was 10 years old. He died in his second drunk driving accident the first of which took his legs. Obama Sr. is buried in Alego, at the village of Nyang’oma Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya in his mothers yard.

Barack Obama’s grandmother, the mother of his father, still lives in poverty in the same village in Kenya and has said on video that Barack was born in the village and she was in the room when he was born. This interview with his grandmother was the event that started the what Obama supporters now call the birther movement, people that doubt Barack Obama’s citizenship.

Barack’s Aunt is living in public housing in Boston facing deportation as an illegal immigrant.

Barack’s youngest half brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama, living in Kenya in poverty with a copy of Barack’s book “The Audacity of Hope” said, “No-one knows who I am, I live here on less than a dollar a month. If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related, I am ashamed of the way he lives.”

Barack’s half sister, Maya Kassandra Soetoro, is the only family member that has spoke out on behalf of her brother. She is a high-school history teacher at La Pietra: Hawaii School for Girls in Honolulu, Hawaii. She participated at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, where she spoke briefly about growing up with her older brother.

Barack’s step-father, Lolo Soetoro was a devout Muslim. During their years together in Indonesia, Ann Dunham became increasingly interested in the country’s culture, while Soetoro became more Western in his outlook. She left Soetoro in 1972, returning to Hawaii and reuniting with her son, who had returned from Indonesia in 1971. Soetoro and Dunham saw each other periodically in the 1970s but did not live together again. They were divorced in 1980 Soetoro and died of a liver ailment in 1987 at age 51.

Barack’s Grandparents, Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham (born October 26, 1922) and Stanley Armour Dunham (March 23, 1918 – February 8, 1992) raised Obama from age 10 in their Honolulu, Hawaii apartment, where the widowed Mrs. Dunham still lives today, in the same city as Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng. During World War II, Stanley Dunham enlisted in the Army. Madelyn worked on a Boeing B-29 assembly line in Wichita. (Barack’s Hawaiian grandmother has since died a couple of months after this post was written)

After the Obama marriage fell apart, the young Barack spent four years with his mother and her second husband in Jakarta, Indonesia. He returned to the United States at age 10 to live with his maternal grandparents in the Makiki district of Honolulu. Barack Obama said of his white Grandmother when asked about his controversial pastor of 20 years Rev. Jeremiah Wright, “I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother – a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.”

Dennis Ching, who worked with her for more than 40 years said, “I never heard her say anything like that. I never heard her say anything negative about anything.” Hawaiian State Senator Sam Slom, who worked with her at the Bank of Hawaii, said “I never heard Madelyn say anything disparaging about people of African ancestry or Asia ancestry or anybody’s ancestry.” Her brother, Charlie Payne, told the Associated Press that his sister’s reaction to being made a campaign issue was “no more than just sort of raised eyebrows.”

Madelyn Dunham suffers from severe osteoporosis. In 2008, she underwent both corneal transplant and hip replacement surgeries.

Barack Obama has had a lot of family members leaving him in his life for one reason or another. His Father, his Step-Father, and even his Mom sent him away. All this has effected his life in many ways. Young men when faced with a vacuum of not having a father figure to learn from gravitate to other men in their lives.

The men Barack Obama has looked up too in our society have been several of the fringe elements.

William Ayers, a militant domestic terrorist that still believes in destroying America and rebuilding it as a Socialist Nation.

Jerimah Wright, Baracks pastor, who believes America is a place where racism is the norm and has preached the destruction of this country for the last 20 years.

Rashid Khalidi, a former terrorist PLO Spokesman and present day hater of America who believes in the destruction of Israel. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.

Robert Malley, who had been in regular contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza and is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organization and was a policy advisor to the Obama campaign. Mr. Malley has been recently fired from his position with the Obama campaign.

Somewhere along the way Barack met these men and he has said they influenced his world views. All of these America haters knew each other before Barack Obama came on the political scene in Chicago and it seems Barack’s eternal longing for a father figure in his life was met by this questionable anti-America group.

As a Family Rights Activist I can only wonder how Barack Obama’s political views might have been different if these men had not shaped his opinions and thoughts or if Ann Dunham had married an American that supported his family, paid his taxes and took a great interest in the raising of his step-son.
