Taxed by the Mile

The Federal Tax on Miles Driven is among the dozens of new Federal and State tax being suggested to avert a shortfall in money to maintain the nation’s highways.

Less than four months after President Bush signed a six year, $286.4 billion highway and public transit act, a report commissioned but not endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says the federal
Highway Trust Fund is running out of money and Congress needs to think about new ways of taking more of our money.

“Decisions are going to have to be made in the very near future,” said Ed Mortimer, the business lobby’s director of transportation infrastructure, acknowledging it could be a tall order. The next highway bill is years away and lawmakers might be loathe to return to a bill that was criticized widely for being padded with thousands of special-interest projects.

Here’s the real problem as I see it, A short sighted Congress in their infinite wisdom has embarked on an enormous tax and spend plan to save the planet again by curtailing our consumption of gas. This has worked and many Americans have cut back on driving, bought hybrid cars and started carpooling to escape from the $4 per gallon gas prices.

Less consumption of fuel has lowered the amount of cash they can bleed off of “We the People” through the federal gas tax. This once huge piggy bank of cash that they would crack open almost daily for just about anything these greedy Congressman saw in a store window is now running out of money.

So instead of curtailing their spending they are scrambling to find new ways of transferring your hard earned money to their sweaty little palms. They have decided on the tax per mile as the best way to generate this new revenue stream from your wallet to theirs. Seems their ultimate goal is that we will be taxed in to poverty.


They are anxiously awaiting the next bridge collapse so they can institute their new tax and once again save us from our precieved crumbling roads and bridges problem.

All new taxes come with huge beauracracies. The bureaucracy here will be in enforcement I believe this is one of the biggest power grabs ever conceived by free nations government.

Congress is considering two ways of enforcing this tax.

This new tax will achieve many goals for this power hungry government. More cash, more beaurocrats, more control of our lives, more federal employees dependant on the government and more intrusion into our everyday lives. All the while charging us to pay for our supervision. For an over bloated, ever powerful, all seeing, all knowing, money hungry bunch of fat cats, its an ingenious plan.

Sarah Palin in US Magazine

Us Magazine put a photo of Sarah Palin on the cover of its September issue with the caption “Sex, Lies and Babies” although there were no lies and no sex to report on. I wonder if the people that spent a hard earned dollar on this rag were disappointed in the lack of 2/3’s of the information that this headline implied.

In the statement, Palin’s spokesman Bill McAllister said, “The high volume of press inquiries, along with some erroneous information that was published, prompted the governor to make a statement.”

In the same statement, Bristol Palin said she “obviously discourages” teen pregnancy and understands previous plans have been forever changed.

“Teenagers need to prevent pregnancy to begin with — this isn’t ideal,” the teenager said. “But I’m fortunate to have a supportive family which is dealing with this together. Tripp is so perfectly precious; we love him with all our hearts. I can’t imagine life without him now.”

Congratulations Sarah, Todd, Levi and Bristol, most of us were un-planned as well but doesn’t everybody love surprises.

A 2009 calendar of the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is currently the top item on the Web site’s list of “Office Products and Supplies.” Washington Wire reported in October that the
calendar was the product of former Wasilla deputy mayor and friend-of-Sarah Judy Patrick, an Anchorage-based photographer who culled from her professional and personal photos of the governor and her family to create the calendar. Patrick’s motivation for the calendar was less political and more financial—she was hoping to sell enough of the $15.95 calendars to put a down payment on a new home. Patrick did not immediately respond to an e-mail about calendar sales.

According to a Gallup Poll released today, Palin is the second most admired woman in America, behind New York Sen. Hillary Clinton but ahead of media mogul and talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

The Palin haters are pretty amusing. The Obama lovers are quite delusional. The years of Obama’s cocaine habit have destroyed much of his cerebral capacity. Palin, if she chooses to run in 2012, will most likely beat Obama because Obama’s term as president might as well be called Jimmy Carter Part II.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
- Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent - Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent - Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent
(yes, 44 percent)!

In the State of Victoria alone , homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!

It was said when the Persians told the King of Sparta and his troops before battle to “lay down your arms” Leonidas replied, “Molan Labe“, come and get them.

Molan Labe, Greek for “Come and get them”.

King Leonidas was the king of Sparta in 480 B.C. He had command of the land forces of the Spartans and at Thermopylae was in charge of all the allied Greek land forces. Leonidas and his band of 300 elite Spartans stood with impressive courage to face the mighty Persian force, although they knew they would die. It is said that Leonidas told his men to eat a hearty breakfast because they would have their next meal in the Underworld.

King Leonidas hand picked 300 men each with a living son at home. It is said that this meant that the fighter had someone to fight for. It also meant that the noble family line would not die out when the hoplite was killed. The Spartan king Leonidas, who like the others, had a young son at home personally led his troops into battle. The 300 knew that they would die and performed all the rituals as if going to an athletic competition before fighting to the death at Thermopylae. After three days of fighting and having killed countless numbers of Xerxe’s elite troops, they were finally overrun and the 300 Spartans were killed to the man, including King Leonidas. The other 7000 either departed or surrendered.

When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to

Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army. “Our archers are so numerous,” said the envoy, “that the flight of their arrows darkens the sun.”

“So much the better,” replied Leonidas, “for we shall fight them in the shade.”

It was said when the envoy told the King of Sparta and his troops before the battle to “lay down your arms” Leonidas replied, “Molan Labe“, come and get them.

Is there anything you would fight to the death for? Your country, your children, freedom? Many great Americans have made great stands for what they believe in and have gone down in the history books of this great nation.

Leonidas died in the third day of battle with 300 brave men. The battle so frustrated the Persian, self-proclaimed God/King they they slowed their assault on the freedom of the surrounding countries, giving the Greeks time to assemble their military and stop Xerxe’s move to conquer the world.

While it seems this country has gone soft and freely gives up right after right to the government, there are still some that stand for truth, justice and freedom.

Thousands of our military personnel are fighting for freedom from radical Islam right now. Campbell Soup Company has openly begun helping homosexual activists push their agenda.

According to the Campbell’s Soup website, the company’s businesses strive to avoid advertising that disparages any religious, ethnic or political group or that “implies that Campbell supports specific points of view.”

But their purchase of two page ad in the “The Advocate” magazine portraying a lesbian couple with their infant son proves that they are putting money into the hands that are advocating a homosexual agenda. The ad is running for two months (Dec. and Jan.) in the homosexual activist magazine at a cost of thousand’s dollars.

The advertisement features Forant and Montgomery, a lesbian couple, smiling down at young Eli as he looks at a box of Swanson’s broth.

“This holiday season,” the ad concludes, “serve a special meal no matter the size and structure of your family.”

Why am I against homosexual marriage being pushed as equal to traditional marriage in America?

With much research and my work with Splitntwo I have a greater understanding of government intrusion into the lives of the family than most people. The CPS and DHS branches of your state government are institutions that are supposed to help children. They portray an image of helping children in need and finding homes for orphans. They have 10’s of thousands of children in their care and the child abuse rate is 5 times more for children in the care of the government that children in the care of their parents. Consider this…. Have you personally ever seen an orphan? I haven’t. The federal government gives billions of dollars to these agencies to operate based on a “per child” basis. CPS and DHS is totally dependant on this money to survive. They need orphans and since Planned Parenthood has aborted nearly every unwanted child in America (approaching 50 million) there are virtually no true orphans in this nation. They find these children by lowering the standards of abuse, some states the level of abuse to only being poor.

How does this relate to gay marriage? The big payoff for CPS and DHS is in the adoption process. The federal government in its infinite wisdom to find homes for these non-existent orphans has doubled the incentive for finding homes for these children that should have never been taken away from their natural parents. Its now somewhere around $60,000 per child taken and adopted out.

If gay marriage is instituted as being on the same level as traditional marriage, millions of new gay families will emerge. Next they will demand the right to have children so they will truly be equal. CPS and DHS will immediately have thousands of new orders for children to fulfill this need.

They will come after your kids. Child Protective Services prey on poor white families with no funds to fight the system for their parental rights. They will find that thousands of poor families do not have enough income to raise their kids properly, immediately move to terminate their parental rights and receive millions more in federal funding for their services.

Gay marriage will further bankrupt the morality of this once great nation. I’m sharing this with you because I have received much criticism over my pro-family activism and not standing up for the rights of homosexuals to marry. Now maybe you have more understanding of why. George Bush signed legislation just before the election doubling the federal money pumped into the corrupt CPS system. The timing of this legislation is curious, coming just before several states would decide if they would move gay marriage to the same level as traditional marriage.

This signing gives me two assumptions to decide between. Either Bush didn’t educate himself as to what this federal money was doing to destroy the American family or Bush is actively participating in the destruction of our families. The world awaits The latest news on Caylee Anthony. A body has been found earily close to the Anthony’s home. Tips came in three consecutive days back in August but the police didn’t find the garbage bag that contained the remains of a toddler till a few days ago.

Angelo Nieves, Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, said in a news conference today that a man who found the remains of a small child police cautiously believe to be missing Florida toddler Caylee Anthony made three calls tipping officials off to the area in August.

Nieves also said police found new “skeletal remains” in the area this afternoon.

Police believe the man, who is an Orlando, Fla., utility worker, returned to the area last week “out of curiosity.” He is not a suspect in the case, and police do not know if he had any prior association with Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, who is being held on murder charges, Nieves said.

“He has provided information. He’s been very cooperative,” Nieves said. “There is nothing to indicate any foul play.”

Police did not divulge the man’s name or details on why he made the initial calls in August.

A detective responded to the August calls, but police are working to determine the “thoroughness” of that response, according to Nieves.

Earlier this week, Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Carlos Padilla told ABC News that police had searched the area sometime after Caylee Anthony’s disappearance, but it was flooded at the time.

Is it Caylee? The world awaits. If this is Caylee Anthony this pretty much insures the conviction on her mother Casey, unless of course she gets on of those OJ juries. This being the south, thats not likely.

In other news, the stock market has lost nearly 40% since George Bush’s now infamous “the world is comming to an end if we don’t give these billionaires trillions of dollars” speech. Auto, Insurance, textile, financial and mortgage industries continue in turmoil. On a lighter note Bankruptcy Attorney’s are said to be doing quite well.

POZNAN, Poland - The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

The U.S. Senate report is the latest evidence of the growing groundswell of scientific opposition rising to challenge the UN and Gore. Scientific meetings are now being dominated by a growing number of skeptical scientists. Chrysler Financial has announced it is pulling out of the lease financing business. GMAC Financial Services — the largest auto financing company in the United States — and Ford Motor Credit Co. have said that they will be less involved in pushing subsidized leases.



GMAC has said it would no longer offer incentive-based leases in Canada, but didn’t outline specific plans for the United States.
